Gymnast Sunisa "Suni" Lee won three medals during her incredible run at the 2024 Paris Olympics. After being diagnosed with two rare kidney diseases last year and being told she may never compete again, Lee helped Team USA win gold before earning bronze in the individual all-around competition and uneven bars final.

Lee could've added a fourth medal to her collection during the balance beam final on August 5; however, like her teammate Simone Biles, she took a nasty fall during her routine. Lee hopped back on to complete her routine and finished in sixth place with a 13.100 score.

The 21-year-old didn't allow falling during her final event to ruin her accomplishments. On August 5, Lee owned her mistake by participating in one of the most popular social media trends during the Paris Games.

While numerous fans posted videos of epic sports fails on TikTok under the caption, "Unfortunately, I wasn't chosen for the Olympics," Lee turned the trend on its head. She captioned a video her devastating fall and wrote, "Unfortunately, I was selected for the Olympics ❤️."

Lee's video quickly racked up over seven million likes and thousands of comments. Huskies star Paige Bueckers wrote, "You win 😂." Coca-Cola's official account commented, "Gold medal for this trend goes to:"

LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne added, "I can’t w u😭😭😭." The official Covergirl account commented, "Queen of this trend (and the podium)." One fan wrote, "The best use of this trend 😂😂😂 glad you’re okay!"

Lee admitted that she was "disappointed" with her final beam routine. "I would say it definitely didn't go how I wanted it to," Lee told reporters afterward. "I don't even know what happened in my series. I thought it was straight on, and then all of a sudden, I was on the ground."

Lee felt exhausted before her last event in Paris. "I was telling everyone like, I don't know if I can do this beam final," she said. "I'm so tired and then I felt like I hadn't done beam in a while just because I can't keep track of my days while I've been here. But the pressure was definitely on today."

After winning three medals in Paris, Lee tied Aly Raisman for the third-most decorated U.S. gymnast in history (six total medals).
