The 27-year-old bagged a silver medal in the concluding gymnastics event on Monday, which was the women's floor final. Standing next to her on the podium was long-time teammate Jordan Chiles, who herself placed third. Finishing with the gold was Brazil's Rebeca Andrade after a truly awe-inspiring performance in the final.
It has been quite a journey for Biles and Chiles not only on their road to Paris but throughout their respective careers as gymnasts. These two have been teammates for years and they've been through quite a lot.
This is exactly why Biles could not help but get a little emotional as she sent a simple four-word message to Chiles via Instagram.
"we've come so far đ„č " Biles captioned her post.
The video Biles reposted was taken during the U.S. Olympic Team Gymnastics Trials at the Target Center in Minnesota last June. Now, both ladies will be heading back home to the United States with multiple Olympic medals in tow.
Given her age, this could very well be Biles' final Olympic appearance. She has hinted at the possibility of participating in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles but even if she does not, you can be sure that she will be offering her unwavering support to Chiles and the rest of the gymnastics team.
