AUGUST 6 PATRICK BEVERLEY SUFFERS LUKA DONCIC PTSD Ever since the 2020 NBA playoffs, problematic point guard Patrick Beverley has held Luka Doncic in significantly high regard. Although Jackson hasn't been such a player in years, elite defensive minds reluctantly compliment their opposition.

However, during a recent appearance on the OGs podcast, co-host Mike Miller asked, "Who's the best player you guarded?"

Although Beverley pondered for a few seconds, he answered with Luka.

"Nothing I can do. I take that year what he did to me in the playoffs; I took that s*** all summer on the chin," Beverley revealed.

In the last five games Beverley played against Doncic, the Dallas Mavericks su[erstar averaged 26 points on 42 percent three-point shooting.

AUGUST 4 FROM ONE INTERNATIONAL STAR TO ANOTHER As Luka Doncic watched the Paris Olympics from home like us, he witnessed tennis great Novak Djokovic achieve a historic feat. Already an all-time tennis player, Djokovic added to his legend with his first gold medal at 37.

Djokovic is the oldest player to win a gold medal in tennis since 1908. Following the Serbian's historic achievement, Doncic posted on Instagram to express his admiration for the tennis star.

Doncic's congratulatory Instagram post stems from an apparent mutual respect between the two stars of their respective sports. Djokovic and Doncic shared a moment of embrace during the 2022 FIBA World Cup.

AUG 3 CAN HE PLAY? Dallas Mavericks Summer League big man - really big man - Jamarion Sharp - is signing a one-year deal with the Mavs.

This is likely a training camp deal, but it is still significant on two fronts.

    One, he's 7-5.

And two, the Texas Legends of the G League could end up as a developmental landing spot for Sharp.

    But ... can he play?

Sharp participated in five games for the Mavs team in Vegas, contributing 2.6 points and 4.6 rebounds after having spent his final collegiate year at Ole Miss, where he averaged 3.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

This is obviously worth a shot, if only due to the truth of an old basketball adage: You can't teach tall.
