NBC has released the official Brilliant Minds trailer for its newest medical drama, starring Emmy nominee Zachary Quinto as the eccentric Dr. Wolf.

“Inspired by Oliver Sacks’ extraordinary life and work, the series follows revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist Oliver Wolf (Quinto) and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier – the human mind – while also grappling with their own relationships and mental health,” reads the logline.

When is the Brilliant Minds release date?

Brilliant Minds is scheduled to make its debut on Monday, September 23, on NBC, which will stream the next day on Peacock. The series is executive produced by writer Michael Grassi and director Lee Toland Krieger, based on Sacks’ two books titled The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and An Anthropologist on Mars. Sacks’ life also inspired 1990’s Oscar-nominated drama film Awakenings, starring Robin Williams and Robert De Niro.

Joining Quinto are Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alexander MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, and Teddy Sears, with Mandy Patinkin, Steve Howey, and André De Shields serving as guest stars. The series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Henrik Bastin, Melissa Aouate, Andy Serkis, Jonathan Cavendish, Will Tennant, and DeMane Davis.
