Must be tough for LeBron to not be the most popular guy in the room. Obviously LeBron James is one of the most well-known athletes in the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers star is often in the conversation along with Michael Jordan for the greatest basketball player of all time after winning four NBA championships with three different teams. But over in Paris, they obviously don't care as much about the NBA. LeBron is representing Team USA on the men's national basketball team in the 2024 Olympics, and last night the team took down Brazil in a massive 35 point blowout. Late in the game, as LeBron checked out of the game and took a seat on the bench, the crowd began roaring with applause - which apparently the NBA superstar thought was for him. He even raised his hand and mimicked putting a crown on his head. But there was only one problem: They weren't cheering for him. The ovation was actually for French swimmer Leon Marchand, who was in attendance at the game. Marchand has taken home four gold medals for France while competing in his home country, and is already drawing comparisons to Michael Phelps as one of the greatest swimmers of all time. Naturally the home crowd wanted to cheer on their guy - which led to the awkward moment for LeBron: https://twitter.com/itsAntWright/status/1820932237593858351 Tough scene.
