'Unbelievable!' Micah Parsons Scouts Overshown at Camp

OXNARD - He is coming back from an ACL tear, but he is not doing it slowly. Or quietly.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown is again showing out at training camp. ... and his loudest teammate is impressed.

“Overshown,'' said Micah Parsons in review of his early camp work, "has been unbelievable!''

Something akin to a heat-seeking missile on the field, Overshown has picked up where he left off last offseason prior to his injury ... and the former Texas Longhorn has been getting praise from everyone in the complex for what he's doing here in Oxnard.

And perhaps no bigger praise has come his way than what Parsons is giving him.

"I think he's more confident and stronger than what he was before he tore ACL," Parsons said. "He's coming downhill, he's being aggressive, he understands his reads, you could just see the confidence in him growing. He's getting more reps with the ones, they're ready to get him out there.

"I think he's going to have an unbelievable year for us.”

With the Cowboys very thin at linebacker last year, to the extent where safety Markquese Bell had to fill in, now the room seems to be teaming with talent.

Overshown, Parsons, who has been playing some off-the-ball linebacker for coordinator Mike Zimmer in camp, Damone Clark, Marist Liufau, and veteran Erick Kendricks make up what could now be seen as a potentially solid linebacker room.

Of course, it is easy to get excited about players in preseason, but with the pads coming on, Overshown still flashed, and now - with Preseason Game 1 vs. the Rams slated for this weekend - attention turns to see if he can maintain this level of production going forward in game conditions.

Fans were excited to see Overshown in his rookie season, but now that he's back bigger and potentially better in 2024, "Agent Zero'' could be a prime mover for Zimmer in 2024. ... in what Micah insists can be an "unbelievable'' way.
