Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is atop FIBA's 2024 Paris Olympics MVP ladder entering the semifinals against Serbia. Having done everything at a high-level for Team USA this summer, James is averaging 13.8 points, 7.8 assists, and 5.8 rebounds.
Turning in these numbers on incredible efficiency, James has converted on 67.6 percent of his field goal attempts in this tournament. Along with the impressive play of his teammates, James' performance at the Olympics has Team USA two wins away from a gold medal.
Suffering an injury in Tuesday's quarterfinals win over Brazil, James needed four stitches after taking an inadvertent elbow to the eye.
This was a scary injury for James, as it limited him to just under 17 minutes played, but it seems the star forward will be good to go for Team USA's semifinals game against Serbia.
Speaking with reporters after the game, James said per Tim Reynolds of AP Sports , "I’m all right. Got hit with an inadvertent elbow around the eye."
Fortunately for Team USA, James does not sound too concerned about this injury. Head coach Steve Kerr revealed after the game that James needed four stitches, but did not say anything about his status going forward. This update from James suggests he will be available against Serbia.

With this being his last Olympics, James is focused on bringing home another gold medal for the United States. Two wins away from doing so, James and Team USA will have to defeat Serbia in the semifinals for a chance to face the winner of France-Germany in the gold medal game.
