Jets Alter Practice Schedule in Preparation for Preseason

The New York Jets have never been shy about running physical practices during training camp.

They also haven't been shy about altering the practice schedule for the betterment of the roster, either.

That's exactly what happened Wednesday when, after a couple days of hard practices, the Jets decided to alter the schedule a tad and go through more of a walk-through than lighter practice.

There's a method to that madness from Jets head coach Robert Saleh - especially with having a veteran-heavy team on the roster.

"We're going to have a very light practice, just indoor, that was what was scheduled, we've turned it into a walkthrough between Saturday's practice and yesterday's practice," Saleh explained. "Our guys could use a walkthrough to get their legs back."

New York opens up a single joint practice against the Washington Commanders on Thursday which is expected to be as physical as any Jets practice to this point.

With players like Tyron Smith, Alijah Vera-Tucker, Morgan Moses, and many other players coming off injuries, it's important to keep the core of the team as fresh as possible for the start of the 2024 season.

If that means altering the practice schedule at times, then the Jets could be better for it in the coming months ahead.
