With inclement weather hovering over the area and an intense joint practice slated for Thursday, there's been a mid-week adaptation at 1 Jets Drive.

Originally scheduled as an open practice with fans, the New York Jets changed Wednesday's training camp session to a walk-through and head coach Robert Saleh revealed the factors that led to the team's decision. The club also announced that spectators ticketed for the canceled August 7 session are permitted to attend on August 20.

"We're going to have a very light practice, just indoor, that was what was scheduled, we've turned it into a walkthrough," said Saleh on Wednesday morning. "Between Saturday's practice and yesterday's practice. Our guys could use a walkthrough to get their legs back."

The Jets will go up against the Washington Commanders in a combined session on Thursday with a preseason game to follow on Saturday, August 10.

"It's not a measuring stick, and I wouldn't expect it to be a measuring stick for them either. It's a great opportunity to see new schemes. It's a great opportunity to lean against different bodies," said Saleh. "A lot of really good work can get done in these practices if you attack in a way to get better, and I think both teams will do that."

Gang Green also has joint practices scheduled with preseason opponents Carolina Panthers and New York Giants . On Saturday, August 3, the Jets hosted their annual Green & White scrimmage.

In terms of injuries, Saleh did not offer updates on safety Ashtyn Davis and offensive guard Chris Glaser, who both left Tuesday's practice.

"We're working through today. We'll have a better idea tomorrow with regards to their availability," said Saleh.

Left tackle Tyron Smith is also another name to monitor after being limited yesterday.
