Training camp practices could not be going any better for the New York Jets .

The team hasn't sustained major injuries and both sides of the ball have traded off impressive days each week.

It's about to get even better, though.

New York activated wide receiver Mike Williams off the PUP list Wednesday afternoon - a move that allows the former Los Angeles Chargers deep threat wide receiver to begin practicing with the team in the lead-up to Week 1 of the 2024 season.

Williams signed a one-year, $10 million deal with the Jets this offseason after tearing his ACL with the Chargers early in the year. In seven seasons with the Chargers, the former Clemson first-rounder has totaled 309 catches for 4,806 yards, and 31 touchdowns.

Throughout his career, Williams has been seen as one of the best big-play wideouts in the game thanks to his 6-4 frame. He led the league in yards per reception in 2019 and has topped the 1,000-yard mark twice in his career.

Williams was brought in to be a complement piece to the Jets' top wideout Garrett Wilson. While the organization expected the receiver to be on the Breece Hall schedule from last season, Williams is coming off the PUP list almost a full week earlier.

There are still hurdles to go, and doctor appointments to have for the wideout, but this is a significant step in the right direction, and a sign that he'll be ready to go when the Jets open the 2024 season in San Francisco.
