Brad Pitt was "extremely concerned" about his estranged son Pax following the 20-year-old's involvement in a "scary" bike crash that occurred last month.

According to TMZ , the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor was very "shocked" and "emotional" upon finding out that his son was injured in a scary crash that landed him in the intensive care unit for much of last week. An unnamed source told the outlet of Pitt's unrelenting concern despite receiving "a steady flow of information about his recovery." As Pax and his father's relationship remains severed "concerned people around the family" continue to update Pitt on the 20-year-old's condition as he begins a lengthy recovery process.

Pax was rushed to the hospital on July 29th after crashing into a stopped vehicle in heavy Los Angeles traffic. The 20-year-old was riding an electric bike, and was not wearing a helmet when he slammed into the stationary car. Bystanders assumed head and hip injuries as Pax was transported to the hospital and immediately taken to the ICU.

He was released from the hospital sometime around August 5th after being treated for "complex trauma." A source told People that Pax had a long road to recovery ahead of him, starting with physical therapy.

The 20-year-old remains in the care of his mother, Angelina Jolie , and a few of his siblings and will continue to recover at home with loved ones in the coming weeks. Information regarding detailed injuries Pax sustained from the accident were not immediately available following news of his leave from the hospital.
