Aaron Rodgers' parents disapproved of then-girlfriend Olivia Munn's explicit comments about their relationship and broke off contract with the NFL star for close to a decade, a new book claims.

Journalist Ian O'Connor claimed that the quarterback's parents, Ed and Darla Rodgers, were not happy with Munn's comments in an interview that discussed her love life. The New York Jets quarterback started dating Munn in 2014 and the couple broke up in 2017.

In the book, "Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers," O'Connor claimed that the devout Christian couple did not approve of Munn's relationship with their son. The Daily Mail published an early excerpt from the book, claiming that Darla Rodgers was "aghast" at comments from the actress about their love life.

"Given her devout religious views, Aaron's mother disapproved of premarital sex and was opposed to her middle child sharing a hotel room with his girlfriend even as an NFL player," O'Connor wrote.

The report added that Munn discussed her love life with Rodgers in a December 2014 interview. O'Connor claimed that Munn also got into an "angry rant" with Rodgers' parents when they planned to visit with him after a game in Tampa.

"Ed and Darla explained that they had been attending Aaron's games since he was a kid and did not need her permission to continue to do so," O'Connor wrote in the excerpt published by The Daily Mail.
