American gymnastics star Stephen Nedoroscik – better known as “pommel horse guy” – is well aware of all the memes featuring him making their way around the internet.

And if he wasn’t, gold medalist Simone Biles made sure to show him.

In an interview with Teen Vogue , Nedoroscik said Biles had made sure to stop by and show him a meme of himself that she had come across.

“That’s just so surreal because I don’t think she really even knew what my name was a month ago,” Nedoroscik said of the experience while describing Biles as an “icon” and “the GOAT.”

Nedoroscik rose to stardom after helping the men’s gymnastics team win a bronze medal in the team final with his impressive effort on the pommel horse.

It was the first time since 2008 that the Americans had medaled in the event.

Fans cheered and Nedoroscik high-fived them as he walked off the jetway and into the terminal.

“It’s unbelievable,” Nedoroscik told Fox 13 . “Just the amount of outreach I’ve gotten, the amount of people reaching out to me saying, like, you know, ‘we want to watch men’s gymnastics. You’re helping grow the fan base [for] men’s gymnastics.’ And I honestly, that’s what I really want to hear, is that this sport is growing in our, you know, country. It’s not exactly the most popular one. And I’m glad that I can help assist in that.”
