The Miami Dolphins have something that few can claim: a perfect and immensely popular throwback uniform and logo at their disposal. While some teams rebrand with tired, bizarre, UFL-esque new looks, the Dolphins have a look that could completely wipe away the eye sore that is the current uniform and floundering whale logo.
Unfortunately, owner Stephen Ross isn't on board with that apparently obvious move that would thrill much of the fan base. Not even Dan Marino can persuade him. That's particularly unfortunate because many of the players love playing in them .
As such, Dolphins fans have been relegated to only being able to enjoy their favorite team in said uniforms twice a year. Now we know when that will take place in 2024.
The Dolphins revealed on Wednesday night the two dates they'll be wearing their throwbacks.
Miami will wear their throwbacks once at home, and it will be in their biggest home game of the year on Thursday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills on September 12. Might as well try to follow the "look good, feel good; feel good, play good" mantra for that game.
They will also don the throwbacks for their Thanksgiving night game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Hey, it's a classic look at a classic stadium in a game that could end up having more eyeballs on them than any other one this season.
Not a bad way to get more people on the hype train for the Dolphins to do what many people think should be done: make their throwbacks permanent.
