If you are a McDonald’s fan, then this will be exciting! The chain just revealed its new “Collector’s Meal,” and it is giving us all the throwback vibes. According to People , this new meal type is expected to come out on August 13 , and it will feature many nostalgic references.

McDonald’s New Collectors Meal Features Nostalgic References

This new “Collectors Meal” will only be available for a limited time. When ordered, it comes with a classic McDonald’s food item and one of the new six collectible cups. Each cup is decorated with a reference to decades past.

Company executives told Today that this is part of an effort to “lure back low-income consumers frustrated by high menu prices.” McDonald’s first began listening to its customers’ complaints earlier this summer. Many customers complained about the dollar menu being gone. McDonald’s listed and created the five-dollar meal, including a cheeseburger, fries, McNuggets, and a drink.

Another McDonald’s spokesperson said, “Customers are telling us that they are really stressed. And so this is a really good opportunity for McDonalds to bring them value.” With this new “Collectors Menu,” we can see that McDonald’s jumped on that opportunity.

The New Cups Are Taking Us Back

These nostalgic cups, which are included in the “Collectors Meals,” take us back to some of the most popular things during the nineties. Here are the six cups featured in this new collection.

    • McDonald’s Cup : This cup features the collectibles from McDonald’s that we all fell in love with. Collectibles like Boo Buckets and Funny Fry Friends. These classic collectibles bring fans and customers back to a simpler time.
    • Hello Kitty and The Peanuts : Featuring images from both cartoons, this cup shows the greatness of friendship.
    • Barbie & Hot Wheels: This cup shows two of the most popular toys of the past!
    • Shrek, Jurassic Park & Minions : This cup combines some of McDonald’s fans favorite things. The scenes on this cup help bring the characters and the collectibles that came with them to life.
    • Coca-Cola: Coca-Cola has always been a favorite soda in America and has been with McDonald’s for a long time.
    • Beanie Babies: Having become a collector’s item themselves, it feels fitting that this would be part of the “Collectors Meal.” It pays homage to the Beanie Baby craze as well as gives a shout-out to the Golden Arches Bear.

As if the nostalgic cups were not cool enough, McDonalds takes it a step further. Each cup features an image of a former collectible from the old Happy Meals. For example, the Shrek cup features the Gingerbread Man watch from 2010, and the Barbie cup features images of dolls sold throughout the years.

    How To Get A McDonald’s “Collector’s Meal”

If you are interested in getting one of these “Collector’s Meals,” you are in luck. They will be hitting stores on August 13. To get one of these meals, you just order a “Collector’s Meal” when you place your order. If you are ordering during breakfast hours, your meal will come with a sausage and egg McMuffin, a hash brown, and a hot coffee in one of the six plastic cups.

If you order during any other time of the day, you will get either 10-piece McNuggets or a Big Mac with french fries and a soft drink. We can’t wait for August 13 to come so we can see all of the incredible cups that take us back. They are sure to be a hit.
