Charles Barkley Reveals What Drives Him ‘Crazy’ On Inside the NBA

'Inside the NBA' host Charles Barkley joined Paul George’s 'Podcast P' show to vent about what frustrates him the most when it comes to being on television.
Surprisingly, Barkley revealed that it’s not his co-hosts Shaquille O’Neal or Kenny Smith who drive him up the wall, but rather the NBA players themselves.
“They get on TV and they f**king freeze up,” Barkley admitted. “That’s the s**t that drives us crazy.”
Barkley shared he was confused over how these players can be so relaxed and themselves in casual settings but completely fall apart when the camera is on them.
“When that dude gets on television, he gets deer in the headlights,” Barkley continued. “They be shell-shocked, I’m like ‘Yo man, we’re talking about basketball, why when the camera gets on your face your a** freeze up?’”
Despite his frustrations, Barkley acknowledged that he, too, struggled to find his footing on TV at first.
He advised players to stay true to their own style and not try to change who they are or how they speak.
“It took me a minute,” he said. “The number one thing to do is I’m going to talk to you guys like I’m talking to you now. I’m enjoying being on your podcast, this is how we are going to talk.”
