Noah Lyles was on the brink of his second gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics , but it was Botswana's Letsile Tebogo who claimed the the men's 200-meters crown.

Lyles found himself in the second spot in his 100-meters semifinal race, trailing behind Tebogo. This was a rare occurrence, as it was the first time in three years that Lyles didn't clinch the top spot in a 200-meter race, a streak that started after his third-place finish at the 2020 Tokyo Games.

In a surprising twist during the finals, Tebogo became the youngest 200-meters medalist at just 21 years old, while Team USA's Kenny Bednarek claimed silver and Lyles took bronze.

After the race, Lyles lay down on the track, appeared to be breathing heavily, and then left the arena in a wheelchair. NBC Sports reported that Lyles tested positive for Covid-19 two days ago but chose to run the race anyway.

Here Lyles' results in the 200-meters final.
