Scottie Scheffler's incredible season is about to get even better with the Masters and Olympic champion in line for an $8 million bonus this week.

Scheffler, 28, has won six PGA Tour events so far this season and is certain to finish atop the Comcast Business Tour Top 10 rankings, with the regular season concluding at this week's Wyndham Championship. Scheffler leads second-placed Xander Schauffele by almost 2,000 points,

Rory McIlroy is in a distant third place in the standings, one spot ahead of Collin Morikawa. And with none of the top four in action in North Carolina on Thursday, as their focus turns to the start of the FedEx Cup Playoffs next week, Scheffler is assured to finish atop the regular season order of merit.

He will receive an $8m payday as a result, with the Comcast Business Tour Top 10 prize pool doubling to $40m for this season. Schauffele, McIlroy and Morikawa will also bank massive bonuses without lifting a club this week. Wyndham Clark, Shane Lowry, Ludvig Aberg and Sahith Theegala are also among the players expected to finish in the regular season top 10.

World No. 1 Scheffler's 2024 on-course earnings will swell to a huge $36,148,691 as a result, with the lucrative FedEx Cup playoffs still to come. The FedEx St. Jude Championship and the BMW Championship over the next fortnight have $20m purses respectively with $4m going to the winner, while the man who is crowned winner of the Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta on Sep. 1 will pocked a massive $25m.

Scheffler claimed his first title of the season at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March, winning The Players at TPC Sawgrass a week later. He would don the green jacket for the second the following month, showing his supreme class to win The Masters in challenging conditions.

Victory at the RBC Heritage a week later saw him win back-to-back tournaments for the second time this season. The Texan has also won the Memorial and Travelers titles in 2024 as he puts together one of the finest campaigns in the history of the sport.

Although major glory eluded him after The Masters, Olympic gold in Paris on Sunday put an exclamation point on Scheffler's season. He was seemingly out of contention for top spot on the podium heading into the final round at Le Golf National, but he carded a remarkable nine-under-par final-round 62 to edge out Great Britain's Tommy Fleetwood by one shot.
