Kanye West admits he 'was drinking' when he posted antisemitic tweet but says it's still the 'truth'

Kanye "Ye" West is blaming it on the alcohol, once again, when it comes to his actions.

In 2022, Ye posted an antisemitic tweet on X, formerly known as Twitter, that caused major controversy and cost him to lose several business deals like Adidas. Candace Owens' podcast, Candace, posted an episode on Wednesday, August 7 that was actually filmed in 2022 with the rapper admitting that he was actually under the influence when posting those tweets.

He said: "You wanna know what alcohol I had inside me? Hennessy. It turns us gray. The demons [come out]."

When asked why he did not disclose that before, he said he did not want his words "discredited" since he did consider them to be the "truth."

In December 2023, Ye made a statement that was written in Hebrew with an apology. The post was simple with only the text itself against a white background. Kanye wrote: "I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for any unintended outburst caused by my words or actions, it was not my intention to hurt or disrespect, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused."

He continued: "I am committed to starting with myself and learning from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding in the future. Your forgiveness is important to me, and I am committed to making amends and promoting unity."

In recent years, Kanye made several antisemitic comments and was even revealed to have a deep interest in Adolf Hitler. He has consistently doubled down on his comments and told Piers Morgan that Jewish people have harmed him in music deals and contracts. Kanye also claimed that a Jonah Hill movie changed his mind on the situation.

This was not the first time the Vultures rapper blamed something on alcohol. At the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, he admitted that what happened on stage at the 2009 VMAs – interrupting Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech – was due to drinking half a bottle of Hennessy.

When accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, he said: "f I had to do it all over again, what would I have done? Would I have worn a leather shirt? Would I have drank half a bottle of Hennessy and gave the rest of it to the audience?"
