Early in the year, Seth Rollins hurt his knee as he was preparing for a program with Jinder Mahal . After as slight delay, the match happened and Rollins then shifted his focus to WrestleMania 40 . He lost on both nights, dropping the World Heavyweight Championship to Drew McIntyre on evening two. Rollins then took a hiatus for surgery and returned in June, losing at Money in the Bank . Then, he switched his focus back to McIntyre and CM Punk .
At SummerSlam , Rollins served as the special referee between McIntyre and Punk. All three became physical, with McIntyre leaving the victor. On RAW , WWE had to write Seth Rollins off of TV as he is injured. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio , Bronson Reed’s attack on Rollins was a quick away to get him away from TV. “Seth is not a bad situation,” said Meltzer. “Seth is cleared and he could wrestle, but he’s banged up. So, it was a good time for him to take time off and do this. I don’t know if he’ll be back for the pay-per-view [Bash in Berlin] against Bronson Reed.”
WWE Might Want To Let Seth Rollins Take An Extended Break
The next pay per view is about three weeks away and WWE already created the storyline. If Rollins is okay, the match would be easy to piece-together. I feel like this feud will be over quickly. Honestly, it was only done to give Rollins time to rest. Fans want to see Punk vs Rollins vs McIntyre in the future. Nothing against Bronson Reed , but the other program is fire.
Last year, Rollins had one of the best records and held the World Heavyweight Championship for a long stretch. With his wrestling style and getting older, he might need to slow the pace. His wife, Becky Lynch , is enjoying being a free agent before likely re-signing with WWE. So, do feel WWE should start moving past Seth Rollins because he is frequently injured?
