DUI Checkpoints are meant to discourage people from driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, while also informing the public about the risks associated with driving while under the influence.

In the press release, members of the West Virginia State Police advised the public to help members of law enforcement prevent people driving while impaired by informing law enforcement agencies if they see someone driving under the influence.
