BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — No one was hurt Wednesday after a fire broke out at a manufacturing facility in Battle Creek, authorities say.

Crews responded around 4:30 p.m. to Advantage Sintered Metals, located on W Dickman Road near Armstrong Road, according to a release from the Battle Creek Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived, they found “a large volume of fire and black smoke coming from the roof.” Crews were able to bring the flames under control in about 1.5 hours, they say.

According to BCFD, no injuries were reported, but the fire caused about $2.5 million worth of property damage. The department is still investigating what caused the fire.
