    Defiance common pleas

    Alfred Brusaw, 68, Stryker (CCNO), pleaded guilty to trespass in a habitation, a fourth-degree felony. He was given a 12-month prison term with credit for 69 days served in jail while his case was pending.

    Ashley Cole, 34, Stryker (CCNO) pleaded guilty to failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; vandalism, a fifth-degree felony; and OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor, according to Prosecutor Morris Murray’s office. She was given a 41-month prison term with credit for 74 days served in jail while her case was pending, her operator’s license was suspended for five years and she was ordered to pay $1,160.38 in restitution to the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office. Cole operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, then fled from a law enforcement officer’s traffic stop, creating a substantial risk of serious physical harm to persons or property in the area. Cole was stopped and taken into custody before causing damage to a sheriff’s office police cruiser.

    Emilio Gonzalez, 24, Napoleon, appeared for sentencing for failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony. He was given a 30-month prison term with credit for 66 days served in jail while his case was pending and his operator’s license was suspended for five years. Gonzalez fled from a law enforcement officer’s traffic stop on Defiance’s Wayne Avenue on Nov. 30. The pursuit lasted more than 50 minutes, creating a substantial risk of serious physical harm to persons or property in the area while fleeing from police at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. He was finally stopped in Henry County.

    Lynn Sexton, 32, Stryker (CCNO), appeared for sentencing on a charge of aggravated trafficking in drugs, a third-degree felony. He was given a 30-month prison term with jail credit for 144 days served in jail while his case was pending and ordered to pay $140 in restitution to the Multi-Area Narcotics Unit.

    Eric Boyce, 47, Edon, appeared for sentencing on charges of receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony, and was placed on community control for two years.

    Alyssa Johnston, 32, Toledo, pleaded guilty plea to aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony. She was placed on community control for two years with conditions, including that she successfully complete an inpatient treatment program.

    George Knight, 47, 625 Village Lane, pleaded no contest to domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was found guilty and placed on probation for two years.

    Simon Ramirez, Jr., 67, 920 Karnes Ave., pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, and he was placed on community control for two years.

    Cole Reynolds, 28, 1624 Woodhurst Drive, appeared for sentencing on a charge of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, and was placed on community control for three years.

    Lucas Rittenhouse, 40, 1038 Riverside Ave., appeared for sentencing on five counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, each a fourth-degree felony, and was placed on community control for four years.

    Thomas Stearns, 20, Greenup, Ky. pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and bond was continued. Sentencing was scheduled for Oct. 16.

    Kristi Warner, 37, Stryker (CCNO) pleaded guilty to theft from a person in a protected class, a third-degree felony; and failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and her bond was continued. Sentencing was scheduled for Sept. 26.

    Wyatt Whalen, 23, 404 Douglas St., pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was scheduled for Oct. 3.

    Christina Burk, 34, Lima, pleaded not guilty to attempted pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, a third-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 16 and she was given a personal-recognizance bond.

    Noah Cox, 41, 1632 S. Clinton St., pleaded not guilty to endangering children, a second-degree felony; domestic violence, a third-degree felony; strangulation, a third-degree felony; and endangering children, a first-degree misdemeanor. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 24 and bond was set at $5,000 with a 10% allowance provision.

    Kyle Crase, 35, Stryker (CCNO), pleaded not guilty to assault, a fourth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 9 and bond was set at $25,000 with a 10% allowance provision.

    Yamil Cruz, 19, Rochester, N.Y., pleaded not guilty to aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony; abduction, a third-degree felony; and strangulation, a fourth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 23 and bond was set at $25,000 with a 10% allowance provision.

    Derrick Dunn Sr., 47, Lagrange, Ind., pleaded not guilty to improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a fifth-degree felony; and OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 25 and he was given a personal-recognizance bond.

    Kyle Lawrence, 33, Stryker (CCNO), pleaded not guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 9 and he was given a personal-recognizance bond.

    Richard McMahon, 58, Stryker (CCNO), pleaded not guilty plea to seven counts of pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor impaired person, each a second-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 10 and bond was set at $50,000 with a 10% allowance provision.

    David Mendieta, 61, Hicksville, pleaded not guilty to failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 12 and bond was set at $25,000 with a 10% allowance provision.

    Anthony Meyer, 57, Stryker (CCNO), pleaded not guilty to two counts of felonious assault, each a second-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 10 and bond was set at $25,000 with a 10% allowance provision.

    Joseph Wiswell, 41, Paulding, pleaded not guilty to failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony; and OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 12 and bond was set at $10,000 with a 10% allowance provision.
