A Graham man was injured and airlifted to Fort Worth as a result of a two-vehicle wreck over the weekend on Hwy. 380 West.

The wreck occurred at approximately 6:54 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 near Hot Point Loop on Hwy. 380 West, according to a preliminary investigation from the Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Juan L. Gutierrez.

The preliminary DPS investigation revealed a 2018 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Keith Cook, 39, of Graham, was traveling southeast on Hwy. 380 and failed to drive in a single lane while a 2020 Lincoln Continental, driven by Marvin Richards, 45, of Olney, was traveling northwest on the highway. The two vehicles collided and came to a rest in their respective travel lanes.

Cook was airlifted to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth with incapacitating injuries. His passenger, Shannon Rister, 42, of Graham, was seen by Graham-Young County EMS, and refused treatment.

Both Richards and his passenger, Margarita Richards, 50, of Olney, were seen by Graham-Young County EMS, and refused treatment.

Responding to the wreck were the Young County Sheriff’s Office, Graham-Young County EMS, Graham Police Department, Salt Creek Rural VFD, Graham Fire Department and the area Texas Game Warden.

Editor’s Note: Complete information regarding the wreck was not made available by the Texas Department of Public Safety until Tuesday, Aug. 27.
