The Somerset County Dive-Rescue Team recovered a 31-year-old Skillman man, the vehicle's sole occupant, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle, a 2024 Honda Civic, failed to stop at an intersection, struck guardrails, and became airborne before landing in the canal.

The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office or Franklin Township Police Department.
