    A judge ruled that Robert F. Kennedy’s name should not appear on the New York ballot. Also, the Catskill High School principal was placed on administrative leave, again. This, and more, in your five things to know this Tuesday.

    1. Judge rules against RFK Jr. in fight to be on New York’s ballot, says he is not a state resident

    A judge ruled Monday that independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s name should not appear on New York’s ballot, saying that he falsely claimed a New York residence on nominating petitions despite living in California.

    2. Catskill High School principal placed on leave

    The Catskill High School Principal Junait Shah was placed on administrative leave, again, weeks before the start of the 2024-2025 school year. The announcement comes after a Board of Education meeting on Aug. 7.

    3. Grants to be made available for storm recovery

    Remnants from Debby caused damage in New York State communities. Allegany, Delaware, Franklin, Steuben, and St. Lawrence Counties are among the hardest hit areas. Governor Kathy Hochul announced over the weekend that money will be made available to help people in those counties.

    4. Water line construction nearing completion in Hoosick Falls

    Crews in Hoosick Falls are on track to finish installing a new water line along Route 22 by the end of the week.

    5. Arbor Hill resident finishes affordable housing project

    An independent female developer from Albany recently held a ribbon cutting for an affordable housing property, located in the same neighborhood she grew up in. NEWS10 talked to her about how she did it and the importance of local influence on revitalization efforts.
