Metropolitan Church hosts back-to-school bash

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 )– The Back-to-School Bash held by Metropolitan NTM Baptist Church returns this year on Friday, Aug. 16 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The community centered event will provide school supplies to children and will have free food and activities for all ages.

During the event, 800 backpacks filled with school supplies will be given away. Free haircuts and other activities like a bounce house and games will also be available for children.

“We are thrilled to once again host this important event for our community,” Rev. Dr. Damone Paul Johnson, senior pastor of Metropolitan NTM Baptist Church said. “One of our core tenets is engaging the community. Therefore, the Back-to-School Bash not only helps meet the needs of families and children by but also brings our community together in a spirit of support, fellowship, and celebration.”
