Victim hospitalized after Washington Avenue shooting

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — A 25-year-old man was shot in the leg and hospitalized around 9:50 a.m. Wednesday near the 300 block of Washington Avenue. Albany Police say the victim was found two minutes after they arrived at Central and Henry Johnson Boulevard.

The victim was treated on scene and taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition. Police said he had a gunshot wound to his hand and leg.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking the public to report any information by calling detectives at (518) 462-8039. Anonymous tips can be submitted through the Capital Region Crime Stoppers website.
