Troopers identify human remains found in Knox

KNOX, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — State Police were investigating reports of human remains found in Knox from a Schoharie County resident since July 21. The remains were identified by State Police and the New York State Forensic Investigative Center as Anthony Moretti, 35, of Albany.

Troopers say Moretti had not been reported missing and last had contact with his family in October. The nature and cause of death is under investigation still but State Police says it does not appear to be suspicious. Based on the condition of his body, troopers believe Moretti had been there since the fall of 2023.
