3rd Annual Doggy Easter Egg Hunt

SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) -- On Sunday, a dog Easter Egg Hunt took place at the Justin Trails Resort in Sparta.

The rules are simple, e ach dog must touch the egg with either their nose or paw before the handler can place it into their basket.

When the time is up, each dog handler opens their eggs, but there's a catch.

If one of the eggs has a sticker inside, you can select from a variety of different prizes.

"Everyone is out here to have fun, and I always just loving hearing their story. Everybody comes here with their own story, and we love hearing those," said Gina Mason, President of Chasing Daylight Animal Shelter.

Officials expected between 30 to 40 dogs to participate in the event.
