ORA Trails hosts launch party for West Salem Bike Playground

WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) -- A new all-ages and abilities bike playground is coming to West Salem.

Friday, ORA trails hosted a launch party at Lewis Point Park to celebrate the project entering its final fundraising phase before construction starts this summer.

At the event, attendees got a preview of the plans and tried out ramps and rollers.

Jed Olson is the Executive Director for ORA Trails.  He said the bike park will be a great asset to the community.

"It allows a lot of people with a lot of different experience levels to come and enjoy this space in really diverse ways... and so we really see these [parks] engaged day-in day-out, all hours of the day," said Olson.

The sustainable design concept includes features like flow tracks, entry level areas and a "stroll and roll" path connecting parking to the trail so bikers can hop on and off as they please.
