Trial date and location set for man accused of killing Madeline Kingsbury

MANKATO, Minn. (WKBT) -- The trial date and location has been set for the man accused of killing Madeline Kingsbury.

Adam Fravel's jury trial begins October 7 in the Blue Earth County Justice Center in Mankato, Minnesota at 1:30 p.m.

The order was filed in Winona County's Third District Court Wednesday. Online records indicate the trial could last up to 20 days.

In June, the court granted a motion from Fravel's attorneys for a change of venue , arguing he could not be fairly tried in Winona County.

Fravel faces charges of murder in the first degree in the death of Madeline Kingsbury.

Kingsbury's disappearance in March of 2023 spurred a months-long effort to locate the Winona mother, involving thousands of volunteers. Kingsbury's body was discovered in June and Fravel was arrested the same day.

Fravel was indicted by a grand jury in October. He's currently held on a $3 million bond.
