ALERT DAY is in effect for severe t-storms Thursday evening!

W H AT WE ARE TRACKING: A cold front brings more showers and strong to severe thunderstorms Thursday evening and overnight before dry and cooler air arrives for Friday.  Pleasant and quiet conditions are expected for Labor Day Weekend.

NEXT 24 HRS: Thursday will be a bit warmer in the mid-80s with some extra moisture in the air that will increase the likelihood of some showers throughout the day, mostly late morning through early afternoon. A line or several lines of thunderstorms associated with the cold front should move through the area after the evening commute, eventually pushing east of the area after midnight. There is still a bit of uncertainty on timing but expect the main line to pass through the area between 7 pm – 1 am. The main risk with these storms will be damaging winds (especially the main line in the evening). Heavy rain will be possible in localized areas.

LOOKING AHEAD: Line or lines of showers and thunderstorms push east of the area after 2 aM or early Friday morning before cloud cover decreases towards sunrise. Less humid and drier air arrives on Friday, with a much cooler airmass arriving by Sunday behind another dry cold front. High temperatures fall from the 70s and 80s Friday and Saturday to the 60s and 70s Sunday through Tuesday. High temperatures will slowly return to seasonable by the second half of next week, with maybe another cool down by the following weekend (back to the 60s/70s). Overall, the weather pattern looks quiet on Labor Day weekend and all of next week.
