Average temperatures and strong storms possible Thursday

W H AT WE ARE TRACKING: Another seasonable day for Thursday until a passing cold front brings a strong line of thunderstorms across the area in the evening.

NEXT 24 HRS: Clouds linger overhead until late Wednesday afternoon, making for an ideal evening for any activities . With this additional cloud cover, highs will stay in the low 80s with dew points back down to the mid-60s . Overnight lows finally get back to normal tonight, leveling in the low to mid-60s. Thursday will be a bit warmer in the mid-80s with some extra moisture in the air that will increase the likelihood of storms in the evening. Thunderstorms are still expected in the late evening as a cold front passes through , bringing a potentially strong line of storms across the entire area. There is still a bit of uncertainty on timing but expect the main line to reach the area between 8pm – 11pm. Scattered thunderstorms are also possible much of the afternoon, mainly south and around the I-90 corridor. The main risk with these storms will be damaging winds (especially the main line in the evening) and hail. Heavy rain will be possible in localized areas. While less like ly, a tornado or two cannot be ruled out.

LOOKING AHEAD: Friday and Saturday will be quiet, warm, and sunny with highs in the mid-80s and little humidity. By Sunday, another cold front will pass over , cooling high temps into the 70s . Yet, we are not forecasting any precipitation with the boundary. Conditions look mostly dry for the whole holiday weekend and into next week.
