Warmer weather starts the week with rain and a cool down around the corner

W H AT WE ARE TRACKING: Temperatures climb back to the low-80s until a cold front brings showers and chilly conditions later in the week.

NEXT 24 HRS: Southerly flow will aid in raising our high temperatures back to normal after a little bit of a cooler stretch this past weekend. Tuesday will see highs in the upper-70s once again, although breezier conditions may make it feel a bit cooler at times. Sustained winds will be around 8-12 mph, gusting near 15 mph. Areas west of the Mississippi River Valley and north of I-94 will have the strongest winds with 20 mph gusts possible. Otherwise, conditions will remain dry with mostly sunny skies. A light haze could be possible with some passing w ildfire smoke; however, we are not anticipating much of it to reach the surface.

LOOKING AHEAD: Southerly winds continue Wednesday, making it the warmest day of the week . H igh temperatures build back up to average (low-80s) with mostly sunny skies . Eventually , a low pressure system and its accompanied cold front will make its way to our area Thursday morning. Morning showers will be likely across much of the area, although low accumulation is expected ( less than 0.2 inches) . This col d front will bring chilly temperatures for the weekend with many highs peaking in the low to mid-60s. Ex pect overnight lows in the low to mid-40s Friday and Saturday night.
