Holmen runs out of gas in second half, falls short to Medford

The Holmen Vikings hosted the Medford Raiders for the first WIAA football game of the season.

Medford was driving down the field on their first drive of the game, but Holmen would force a turnover to stop the Raiders from scoring.

Later in the first quarter, Holmen's Jack Barth would bust open a long run to set the Vikings up inside the 10.

Barth would then rush it in for a 3 yard touchdown as Holmen took a 7-0 lead.

Medford would score right before the half as Holmen would lead 10-6 at halftime.

Medford would then outscore Holmen 20-3 in the second half as they would go on to win 26-13.

Holmen will face off with Sauk Prairie in week 2.
