Firefighters arrived at the scene of a fire at a battery energy storage system facility in the 1300 block of East Warner Avenue in Santa Ana at about 3 p.m., according to the OCFA .

Approximately 60 firefighters worked together as part of the hazardous materials response to cool the container with large volumes of water and prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent containers.

The OCFA Hazardous Materials Response Team utilized unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and air and water runoff monitoring equipment to ensure the community and environment remained safe.

The firefighters are working with their partners at the SAPD to keep the streets clear and safe for us to work, please avoid the area.

The SAPD is evacuating the area from East Warner Avenue to East St. Gertrude Place and from Grand Avenue to South Standard Avenue.
