Set at currently undisclosed point during the events of the Disney+ streaming series, the film will bridge the gap between the rise of the Imperial Remnant and the eventual conflict we’ll see break out in Dave Filoni’s New Republic film (and before that, we’ll presumably get Ahsoka‘s second season).

Created by Marvel Studio’s Spider-Man trilogy director Jon Watts, Lucasfilm’s upcoming live-action Star Wars streaming series Skeleton Crew represents a new direction for the studio. Set during the same New Republic era as The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka, the big-budget adventure will feature four young characters who find themselves on a wild adventure in the galaxy far, far away. Skeleton Crew will introduce youngsters Ravi Cabot-Conyers (Wim), Kyriana Kratter (KB), Robert Timothy Smith (Neel) and Ryan Kiera Armstrong (Fern), who will star alongside Jude Law, who plays Jod Na Nawood. A Judge denied Disney’s motion to dismiss Gina Carano‘s discrimination lawsuit, which means it may head towards trial. 

The former Mandalorian actress filed a lawsuit against Disney and Lucasfilm in February, accusing them of going to “great lengths” to “destroy” her career because of her political opinions.
