This foster-based animal rescue organization based in Massachusetts is searching for dog lovers with space in their homes and hearts to temporarily care for a furry friend. Sandy Paws Rescue explained to their community, "We have been BEGGING for foster homes and still have FOUR large dogs with no where to go for MONDAY, 8/12!".

Sandy Paws Rescue Inc., a foster-based rescue organization in Massachusetts, has recently introduced a dog named Blazer who is looking for his forever home. According to the nonprofit rescue organization, Blazer has had quite a journey. “Blazer was one of 7 dogs ‘saved’ by another rescue down in Texas and when he was just a young puppy. Then, he was abandoned by this ‘rescue’ and left in a boarding kennel for 9 months. He is now a little over a year old, and 55lbs.” Thanks to Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. for stepping in to help Blazer, he is now on the path to finding a family to love him.

One of those dogs is Max, an adorable 11.5-month-old pup who has been waiting since June 3rd. Weighing in at 32 pounds, Max is already housebroken and crate-trained, making him an easy addition to any household. He is described as a dog who "loves his toys, playing with other dogs, and is great with kids too." Though he may be "a little shy with new people," his gentle and sweet nature shines through.

 A California man stabbed a coyote to death inside his home after he found it attacking his pet chihuahua.The wild canine followed the chihuahua into the man’s Simi Valley residence using the doggy door before attacking the small dog just before noon. The dog’s owner was taking a shower upstairs when the incident occurred.After hearing a commotion, the owner rushed downstairs to the animals, grabbed a knife and stabbed the coyote. The wounded coyote receded into the downstairs bathroom and the owner continued stabbing it until it died, Fox 11 reported.The owner, whose identity has not been revealed, was transported via ambulance to a local hospital for bite injuries to his hand and right arm, while a neighbor took the pet to the veterinarian for treatment for bites to the head and face.Both the man and dog are expected to make a full recovery. Following the incident, Ventura County Animal Services responded to the home to collect the carcass.Simi Valley Police Senior Officer Casey Nicholson told the VC Star that the man’s home backs up to open space and that the incident is “a good reminder that wild animals are out there.”

A man out on probation for drug charges less than a year ago and a woman from Douglas were recently arrested following a search at a local apartment. On August 7, 2024, at around 1:00 PM, Detectives from the Coffee County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit were conducting a proactive narcotics patrol in Douglas. During their patrol, a detective spotted 30-year-old Christopher Lamar Hawkins, who had outstanding warrants for fleeing police and methamphetamine possession, driving a white 2021 Kia Sorento. Hawkins was stopped in front of apartment 203/204 on N Wheeler Ave, where two detectives approached him. Breanna Henderson, 33, then came out of apartment 203 to "investigate what was going on with Hawkins" and appeared to whisper with Hawkins during his arrest. The report states that Henderson, who temporarily lived with Hawkins, began whispering with him "presumably about nefarious activities due to Hawkins's previous history with drug distribution and evading law enforcement."
