Two people have been injured in a shooting in a parking lot near Broadway last night. Metro Police apprehended Jeremi Ford, 39, Sunday morning in connection to the shooting. He is a convicted felon. Watch our video to see more of the crime scene.

The shooting happened near the popular Barstool bar on 2 nd Avenue.

Metro Police said it occurred around 11:23 p.m. in the parking lot across the street from Barstool. There was an argument that resulted in gunfire. One victim, a 44-year-old female, says she was trying to leave the parking lot but had to go around a group of people who started screaming at her. Several women approached her car and struck her through her window. The man in the front seat with her, 47, got out of the car and fired shots from a pistol into the air, hoping to stop the assault. But, the 44-year-old woman was then hit in the shoulder by gunfire, and the man was hit repeatedly by gunshots as well.

They were taken to the hospital and are said to have non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooter tried to flee the scene in a gray infiniti with three passengers, according to police. One of the officers attempted to stop them from leaving by standing in the front of the car, and Ford was forced to pull into a parking lot where he and passengers were then taken into custody.

Ford was charged with two counts of attempted homicide, aggravated assault against a first responder, felon in possession of a gun, and reckless endangerment along with his previous felony drug convictions.

According to Metro Police's data dashboard , this will be the first shooting incident this year so close to Lower Broadway.

'An icon for Nashville' The Batman Building turns 30 years old

Even after nine years of calling Middle Tennessee home, my boys still say with excitement, "There's the Batman building!" every time we come downtown. It truly is unique! I loved learning more about its history and inspiration in this story. Love the old footage too! Check it out!
