DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — An assistant prosecutor in Ohio has been fired after allegedly biting off someone’s finger in road rage incident.

Christopher Murray, an assistant prosecutor at the Green County Prosecutor’s Office, was identified by police as a suspect who was arrested June 30 following allegations that he attacked a motorist.

Around 12:30 a.m. that morning, officers responded to the area of Woodman Drive overpass over State Route 35 on report of a fight, according to an incident report from the Riverside Police Department. When officers arrived, they saw a man standing outside his vehicle with blood on his shorts.

While the man received medical treatment, officers determined that his finger had been bitten off.

The man told police that a second person involved in the fight had fled the scene. Officers later located part of the man’s finger underneath his parked vehicle.

The man receiving treatment claimed that the altercation began after another man, later identified by police as Murray, did not move his car when a stoplight turned green. The man honked at the unmoving car, at which point Murray stepped out of his car and confronted the other man.

The two became involved in a physical altercation, he told police. He also claimed that, at one point, he got on top of Murray, at which point Murray bit him.

Hayes also said that Murray had been on leave since July 9.
