FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Fort Wayne Police Department is asking for the public’s help to find a 12-year-old girl who went missing Friday morning.

A public safety alert was sent out for Niya Ellington, who police say was last seen sometime between 5-9 a.m. near Canterbury Green apartments on the city’s northeast side.

Niya is described in the alert as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 130 lbs. She was last seen wearing black pants and a white shirt depicting Tupac on it.

FWPD said in the alert that “she is believed to be distraught and in danger.”

Anyone with information on where Niya could be should call FWPD at 260-427-1222.
