SARASOTA COUNTY -- Sarasota County is telling residents to get ready for another round of Debby-related flooding as the Myakka River continues to rise.

The county emergency operations center remains on full activation. Estimated damage to homes so far is over $24 million dollars.

County Public Works Director Spencer says the Myakka is expected to crest from north to south over the next day and remain at flood stage until Saturday.

A temporary evacuation center has been set up at Woodmere Park in Venice, and there are two sandbag distribution points. Those are George Mullen Activity Center in North Port and Sarasota County Fleet on Annex Rd in Venice.
