High-Speed Chase Ends In Dramatic Rescue And Arrest

Miami-Dade, FL - A stolen SUV led police on a pursuit that ended in a fiery crash with the driver being pulled from the burning vehicle before being arrested.

A high-speed chase through Miami-Dade County culminated in a fiery crash on Interstate 195 Sunday night.

The incident began when Miami-Dade Police spotted a stolen SUV and requested assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Savalas Cigar, led authorities on a pursuit that ended with a PIT maneuver on the Alton Road ramp to the Julia Tuttle Causeway.

Cigar’s SUV overturned and burst into flames.

Quick-thinking officers rescued Cigar from the burning vehicle before he was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He is now facing charges of fleeing and eluding police, and driving without a license.
