Men's Basketball Announces 2024-25 Schedule
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University Men's Basketball Head Coach Kevin Baggett has announced his team's 2024-25 schedule. The Broncs are set to face four high-major opponents on the road in the non-conference, with a season-opening trip to UCLA (Nov. 4), a meeting with former Siena Head Coach Fran McCaffrey's Iowa Hawkeyes (Nov. 19), a Nov. 27 trip to Villanova and a Dec. 16 trip to Raleigh to face North Carolina State highlighting the docket. The Broncs wrap up their Californian trip with a stop at the University of San Diego (Nov. 6), before playing a pair of games in Maryland (Coppin State – Nov. 9; Navy – Nov. 12).
Big Three Emerge for Title Chase at Albany-Saratoga – DTD Exclusive
Things at the top of the point standings at Albany-Saratoga Speedway are getting congested as three drivers are vying for the top spot. Last Friday night, the three drivers in the hunt to date finished in the top three positions, with Jack Lehner earning his third win of the season, Peter Britten, the current point leader, finishing in second, and Marc Johnson coming home third. Coincidentally, Lehner’s win on Friday tied him for the most this season with Johnson at three.

Averill Park graduate Winkler competing again in hammer throw
This is the third Olympics for Averill Park graduate Rudy Winkler. Winkler is competing in the men’s hammer throw. Winkler finished in the top three of the U.S. Olympic trials in June. The former NewsChannel 13 Athlete of the Week is a two-time national champion. He placed seventh at the Olympics in Tokyo. He has had some injuries, but said he now feels healthy and ready to make a run for a medal.

Union Football to Hold Free Youth Clinic on August 13
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Head Coach Jon Drach announced last week the Union College football team will be hosting a Free Youth Football Clinic to kick off the 2024 season. The clinic, scheduled to be held on Tuesday, August 13, is set to serve the local football community for all campers ranging from the ages of 7-13. A "FUNdamentals" based camp, the football team invites participants of all skill levels and positions. The camp will emphasize the basic football skills of passing, catching, running and defensive techniques, and will include team-building exercises and competition.
