Dolphins WR Odell Beckham Jr. Lands Ominous Take For 2024

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. entered the league 10 years ago. While the majority of his time in the league has been characterized as impressive, the last few years have been spotty.

Heading into an age 31 season, Beckham’s back is up against the wall to perform well in a crowded Dolphins wide receiver room. At least, one NFL analyst believes this is the case.

Writing in an article for Bleacher Report , NFL analyst Kristopher Knox used the word “doom” to describe Beckham’s prospects in 2024.

“Even if Beckham returns for the regular season, he’s lost valuable reps in Mike McDaniel’s offense, and a sluggish star could doom him in a lineup that doesn’t lack legitimate playmakers. The cost to sign Beckham wasn’t high (one year, $3 million), but by targeting him, Miami may have passed on the chance to add a different and more impactful receiver,” he wrote.

Between 2014 and 2019, Beckham was electric, lighting up secondaries and stealing highlights. However, around the turn of the decade, the wide receiver started to hit some turbulence.

Odell Beckham Jr. serves as good-luck charm for Dolphins

Beckham’s production nosedived starting in 2020 when he earned just 319 yards and three touchdowns with the Cleveland Browns.

While his production took a hit, he managed to reach new team heights. In 2021, following a difficult start to the season, Beckham asked for a release from the Browns midseason. He landed with the Los Angeles Rams, where he didn’t steal the show, but did help the team reach the Super Bowl. He suffered an ACL tear in the contest but left the game with his first ring.

Then, after teasing a return in 2022, his recovery took him throughout the entire season without a showing. In 2023, he emerged with the Baltimore Ravens, helping the team reach the AFC Championship. By this point, some fans have joked that he is a good-luck charm, having helped a team with the Super Bowl and the other reach a conference championship game.

Now a member of the Dolphins, the franchise hopes to see him work as a good-luck charm if nothing else. Ideally, they would also prefer to have him able to suit up in perfect health in time to play in most of the games this season.
