2 Philadelphia Eagles Fantasy Football Sleepers For 2024

    By Ian Van Roy,

The Philadelphia Eagles are loaded on offense. Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert are all well-known additions that fantasy teams will be making.

However, if one wants to go one level deeper, they have a couple of options.

Here are two sleepers on the Eagles that could surge this season out of nowhere.

    John Ross, WR

John Ross made his name with the Washington Huskies in college. His speed was Tyreek Hill-esque, but he has had a brutal time in the NFL. However, if managers want a potential home run in a game of two this year, Ross could be your guy.

Ross won’t be a 100-target player this year, but if put in as a flex in certain matchups, he could deliver a big-play 10-point play. When it comes to fantasy sleepers, that is essentially all managers can hope for from their deep flex players on a week-to-week basis.

Ross’ best seasons came in 2018 and 2019. In 2018, he earned seven touchdowns and 210 yards. In 2019, he earned 506 yards and three touchdowns, per Pro Football Reference. He won’t light up any secondaries consistently, but his production will come in bunches when it does hit. Used properly, Ross could be a sneaky-good deep addition.

    Kenneth Gainwell, RB

The Eagles veteran running back hasn’t had a breakout season yet as he heads into his fourth year. However, he is only one injury to Barkley away from getting his shot.

In his limited role as a backup, Gainwell has earned about 4.4 yards per carry. This sets the stage for a potentially productive showing if he does get the opportunity.

With Barkley now joining his second team at an advanced age for running backs, getting his backup might be a good stash opportunity. Barkley has had seasons end due to injury in the past, so stashing Gainwell could be a gamble that pays off. Additionally, even if injuries don’t materialize, there is a chance that Gainwell could play his way into a committee role with an older Barkley.

After three years of waiting for his moment, Gainwell will be hungry and ready. His rookie contract is also starting to sprout grey hairs, so the pressure on the running back to deliver is ramping up.
