2 Indianapolis Colts Fantasy Football Sleepers For 2024

Fantasy Football drafting season is upon us. As such, managers are hoping to not only win the draft, but also stockpile names worth adding throughout the season. Indianapolis Colts fans in particular might want to add someone from their favorite team but don’t want to spend precious draft capital on the expensive stars.

As such, here’s a look at two key names from the Colts to take a hard look at.

    Adonai Mitchell, WR

Not many fans are familiar with the Colts new rookie wide receiver. However, he had a college career with an upward trajectory, so if any fans want to take a somewhat shot in the dark, they could do worse than Adonai Mitchell.

Mitchell was invited to the Senior Bowl, which should indicate some level of trust by that mere fact. The Senior Bowl serves as somewhat of a Pro Bowl of college football for the uninitiated.

Mitchell’s last full season in college saw him earn 11 touchdowns and nearly 900 yards in 14 games, which provides hope for his NFL career. Also, with Josh Downs’ health still a question, Mitchell could see extra playing time early in the year.

    Joe Flacco, QB

Yes, Joe Flacco is a backup quarterback, and yes, he won’t start in Week 1. However, this isn’t a recommendation to add him to your roster unless you are in a league that allows multiple quarterbacks to start every week. That said, Flacco is more likely a name worth keeping in mind as the season continues.

Anthony Richardson has already missed essentially one full season. With NFL history handing out many examples of players catching the injury bug as soon as they enter the league, Richardson is at risk of suffering the same fate. If news breaks of any small injuries plaguing Richardson at any point this season, it might make sense to add Flacco, even if he isn’t in line to start.

In the NFL, once injuries begin to show themselves, they often only get worse. If Richardson starts down the injury path, Flacco’s odds of starting increase. However, managers shouldn’t wait until the critical injury happens to snag Flacco, as there likely will be a line by that point. Adding him earlier in the season as soon as trouble appears on the horizon will be the way to go.

Flacco threw for 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions in five starts last season, setting a high bar for himself if he gets any action this year.
