Getting the right pick at wide receiver for fantasy football players can be one of the more trickier selections. There are days when your receiver may hardly perform while other days when he will have the game of his life. Finding the best players in the later rounds of the draft is the trick for fantasy football.

That brings us to the sleeper wide receivers that you can target for your 2024 fantasy football team. Sleepers can be those players who will be the best performers in the draft position or those players who are relatively unknown or those who have not been at the top of their game for some time.

So, without further ado, let us look at 5 such players who can be considered sleepers at the wide receiver position this year.

    Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is one of the leading candidates on this list simply because of what he brings to the table. Although his rookie season last year was nothing extraordinary, it was not all bad either.

He finished last season with 628 and 4 receiving touchdowns, but the important thing to remember here is that he played behind two established receivers, DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Nevertheless, this is year two for Smith-Njigba which means he should have a better impact this time around.

    Joshua Palmer, Los Angeles Chargers

Joshua Palmer is the main target for Justin Herbert in LA. With both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams gone, the wide receiver room is full of uncertainty. Quentin Johnston will be entering his second year but he doesn’t look the part and may take more time to develop. Ladd McConkey is a rookie who will be targeted many times but it won’t be easy to transition from college so quickly.

That leaves Palmer to take up the responsibility and while he got off to a slow start in his career, his game improved last season and he stepped up during Mike Williams’ absence.

    Jameson Williams, Detroit Lions

Jameson Williams will be looking to lock down the WR2 position for the Detroit Lions this year. Entering his third year in the league, Williams has yet to show his caliber in the NFL. The abundance of potential Williams possesses is yet to be witnessed firstly due to an ACL injury in 2022 and then a four-game suspension last year.

However, entering Year 3, this could be the year he takes the big step forward. He showed glimpses of his talent in the 2023-24 postseason and with training camp and preseason games under his belt, Williams could finally do justice to his talent.

    Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills offense is about to undergo a big change. Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis both left in the offseason which means a huge opportunity has opened up for Khalil Shakir. He was one of the standout performers last season in the playoffs and even hauled in 611 yards in the regular season playing behind the likes of Diggs, Davis, and rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid.

While many expect Kincaid to flourish and be targeted the most in Buffalo, Shakir could have something to say about that. Moreover, he is the best option at wide receiver as Keon Coleman is a rookie and Curtis Samuel is expected to take up the WR3 spot.

    Michael Wilson, Arizona Cardinals

The last sleeper wide receiver on this list is second-year Arizona Cardinal Michael Wilson. His rookie season was nothing spectacular but he did look much more in sync once Kyler Murray returned from injury. He had an improved showing in the second half of the season and there is a good chance he can make a big difference this year.

Of course, the focus of the Cardinals’ passing game will be on Marvin Harrison Jr. but after him, Wilson has the chance to step up and be the No. 2 option.
