2 Pittsburgh Steelers Fantasy Football Sleepers For 2024

    By Ian Van Roy,

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in for perhaps the strangest year of Mike Tomlin’s tenure. With two potential starting quarterbacks stuffing the quarterback room, the result of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields could be a sight to behold.

However, when it comes to fantasy football, it turns spectacle into stress. As such, the Steelers are not quite a gold mine of players this year.

However, that said, there are some cases to be made below the top level on the roster.

Here’s a look at two sleepers for the 2024 season.

    Van Jefferson, WR

The Steelers’ No. 2 wide receiver is known only by Rams fans. Jefferson has failed to break into the national conversation, but his elevation to the second-string role (per ESPN’s depth chart) automatically makes him notable.

It might be a while since then, but Jefferson earned 802 yards and six touchdowns with the Rams in 2021. If he can play up to that level in 2024, managers will be kicking themselves because they didn’t draft him.

Jefferson believers will also blame the star-studded roster the Rams have had over the last few years for his lack of production. Then, they will put the blame on Desmond Ridder and Arthur Smith with the Falcons for missing a potential decent player right under their noses.

For managers looking for a great value deep in the draft, Jefferson could be that genius-level move this season.

    Jaylen Warren, RB

Jaylen Warren likely was instantly kicked off the radars of many managers due to questions about his health thanks to a hamstring issue. However, assuming that works itself out, Warren could be a solid under-the-radar addition for managers.

Warren is heading into an important third season as Najee Harris’ backup. With much of the Steelers’ roster seeing a renovation on the offensive side of the ball, don’t be surprised if Warren takes a step over Harris as the season continues on.

Outside of that, the duo afforded Warren a budget of 149 rushes, 784 yards, and four touchdowns. That’s more rushing yards and just one less rushing touchdown than Saints running back Alvin Kamara.

As far as gambles go, Steelers fans can get much riskier than Warren. With the running back also still in the growth phase of his career, the best could be yet to come.
